Gold Diggers!
Published by Larry on Tagged Site Areas
The price of gold has been more than $900 an once for several weeks and people are hunting for gold all across the world in increasing numbers. In fact, gold closed at more than $950 yesterday, a record high. Are you a gold digger? I am proud to say that I am. However, I have not ever filed a gold claim or seriously panned for gold in the West or in Alaska. That is hard work and a costly adventure. I live in a gold paradise and the supply of gold to be found here is ever being replenished and is so much fun to find. I hunt the gold fields of Florida (its beautiful beaches) and my metal detectors pay me well.
Unlike the northern and eastern beach areas, Florida has year around visitors as well as the locals who frequent the beaches even in coldest winter days. The dry sand areas and water are always in use in Florida and coins, relics and jewelry finds are hard to match anywhere. Today the water is a near freezing 68 degrees and it is about 78 outside on this winter February day. Blur!!! What makes it so unbearable living here is the winter storms, called Northeasters, that increase the gold and old coin finds dramatically on these beaches. Me and two buddies did over 2500 coins and 30 gold rings in a three hour period at a east coast beach in the Daytona area. Over 100 of the coin finds were silver and many were pre 1940. I hope that you will refer to us respectfully when you call us “gold diggers”. Here are a few pictures of some of my gold finds in Florida.
