Easter Detecting Fun

Published by Larry on Tagged Coin shooting, Detector Review, Give-A-Ways, Inspirational

This past Easter I buried about $250.00 in US coins and had a coin shoot with 16 children who attended Sunday morning’s service. Equipped with Fisher, Garett and Bounty Hunter Detectors they were given 15 minutes to find coins. I had lightly spray painted one side of the coins and had 28 prizes including a new metal detector. The child finding the most money won the detector and the 2nd highest through the 16th had choice of prizes ranging from large stuffed animals, down to Easter baskets. Every child was a winner and they got to keep the coins that they dug too. Painting the coins before burying them made it easy to verify winning money totals. Most of the children traded their coin finds for Easter Baskets, donating their coins to a missionary team in Kibera Kids Center, in Nairobi, Kenya. The 300 children in this home have lost their parents to Aids. The children sent an offering of $225.00 to missionary Womble from the hunt.

The children dug up over 2100 coins Easter Sunday and that left enough coins in the ground for a field test of a new Titan 1000XD. Two other start-up units a Fisher 1212X and a Garrett 150 Ace as well as a mid-priced White’s unit. Read the field test and see how Shelley using the Titan outperformed the big three.
