About
After 39 years of using metal detectors to find over 151,000 coins, I am convinced that anyone can start and build a valuable coin collection using a metal detector. My collection is worth more than $100,000.00, and over 15,500 of the coins dug up from the ground are silver. I am missing only a few key coins in my Barber Dime, Quarter and Half Dollar sets.

My 20th century dime, quarter and half dollar sets are also nearly complete with many of the coins in all of these sets being in extra-fine and better condition. Copper and other metal coins do not fare as well in the soil as silver and gold, but many of my Large, Indian and Lincoln cents have a good premium value too.
It is my desire to provide information, tips and strategies to assist in building your coin collection by metal detecting. Thank you for visiting my blog. Rest assured that I will cover a wide spectrum of metal detecting for coin collecting issues with frequent posts and newsletter articles. Many of my found and traded treasures will also be offered for sale and every month a rare/valuable dug coin from my collection will be a gift to a visitor leaving a comment on any post.
Here is a portion of my coin collection that came from metal detector coin and relic finds beginning Christmas Day 1969. I use bartering, trading and selling many finds to acquire some of the tough coins in my collection. Click on picture to get a larger version.
